Cusco's Vaginal Speculum is used to inspect the cervix. The speculum is lubricated (with lubricating jelly) and inserted with the blades closed and parallel to the labia. Once the speculum has been inserted into the vagina it is rotated and then opened. The cervix should pop into view as the speculum blades are opened.
